Thank you very much! I usually choose one color to be a strong presence and the other colors flow from that. For this layout, I knew I wanted bright pink to be part of the layout and so I chose some paper scraps that included bright pink. One of those scraps also included orange and blue, so that’s how I chose the orange flower and blue ribbon. I don’t usually work with sketches, although I have used them from time to time. Usually I just push things around the page until they look right to me.
